The Wicked King by Holly Black

And to think that I couldn't imagine this series getting any better than it was already! This book blew me away (if you want to see my review of the first book, The Cruel Prince, it's up on my blog now!).
We left Jude off with having pulled off an insane plan (which literally pissed everyone off) which worked flawlessly. Now she has made this crazy deal with Cardan (who has gone back to hating her, which is fair enough), and it's biting her in the ass. She is trying to do too much at once, and she's also struggling to stay having the upper hand against all of these cunning and scheming faeries. What a great start.
But I have to scream about that ONE scene between Cardan and Jude and...well you'll KNOW what I'm talking about when you get there. I screeched like a 12 year old girl again. It was great. The tension is the best thing ever and I love hearing them bicker with each other. They literally get under each others skin and its so good. This book had amazing plot twists, some pretty shitty betrayals, has still made me hate Taryn, had some great character development (especially for Cardan), and it left me speechless and pissed off. Like...he really did that...and for what??? It's a damn good thing I bought the third one because I'm dying to know how this ends, and how people still like Cardan, and how Jude gets the ending she deserves.
Holly Black, you have ruined my social life completely, and I thank you with my whole heart.
