It's a mouthful of a title, yet a surprisingly little book. I once again stepped outside of my comfort genre with this one (go Caroline!)
This book is more of a fictional/philosophical read than what I am used to, and I was actually gifted this book (thanks Maggie!). The plot centers around a guy who has a lot of questions that he is desperate to find answers for. He decides that the best way to find these answers is to kidnap the people who might know them. This begins his journey of kidnapping people and bringing them to a secluded army base where he just simply talks to them. In a weird twist of fate, each person is somehow connected both to our main guy and to each other. The story also focuses a lot on the big question of "Why?". Why does our government fund certain things and not others. Why are crimes covered and pushed away? Why do those who are supposed to protect us turn their backs on us? And other heavy hitters of the sort.

It's a fast paced and quick read. The ending felt a little rushed to me, and I don't think that that is how it should have ended. I feel like our main character had everything so planned out that the whole ending didn't sit well with me. I'm not totally sure I recommend it unless you want to take that first dive into philosophic books, but I'm glad I went out of my comfort zone and tried it!
